'Go Fresh, Go Green!' | CITYFARM

This project basically is a hybrid building which will serve as a one-stop center to promote fresh and healthy eating in the city and kick start your farming journey. The site I’ve chosen is located in SS15, Subang Jaya which is currently home to Donutes Café. Each floor is designed to reflect my client CityFarm’s three pillar; Food, Farm and Family.
Since CityFarm runs under the slogan, ‘Future of Farming’, This design is a futuristic approach taken under the very slogan. The idea was to create a balance between reality and illusion, under the concept “Go Fresh, Go Green!”, the design will seek to answer the following question; how can people cultivate, consume, and sell in the same place while engaging and intertwining harmoniously with their environment?
The ground floor will generate a dream-like atmosphere for the customers. Playful terrazzo and a metal grid installation are combined with soft, yet eye-catching linear lighting, to carve out and emphasize the fluid forms of the interior. More importantly, the ceiling fixture resembles a fluttering leaf in the wind; telling the leafy concept story. Here they will read, talk and consume fresh.
The other two floors which are dedicated solely to all things farming, are a fine juxtaposition between traditional farming and modern-day farming. This is to help eliminate the common misbelief between young people that the traditional farming is unseemly and ‘taboo’. Futuristic interiors with hints of urban nature will let the youngsters know that farming in fact, is the new cool!
